ปัจจุบันเหลือเพียง 3 ยี่ห้อ ที่ขายดีในอปุกรณ์ sanswitch แต่ขายดีสุดคง brocade ไม่ได้บอกว่า ดีสุดน๊ะครับ เพราะของ cisco กำลังแรง มี คุณสมบัติ VSAN เหมือน VLAN เลย เพราะข้อเสียของการ Zoning ของ sanswith ไม่สามารถกันการ brodcast ได้ แต่รุ่นใหญ่ พอควร การ configuration ของ SAN switch นั้นต้องรู้จักการต่อรวมถึงการทำ Zoning คล้ายการทำ Vlan ของ network สามารถทำได้ ทั้ง soft zone และ hard zone ซึ่งมันมีข้อดีข้อเสียแตกต่างกัน ในตัวอย่างจะเป็น การต่อ EVA storage เข้ากับ SAN กับ command พื้นฐานของ SAN
